Waltham, Massachusetts – February 17-21, 2020

The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Boston Chapter (SHPE Boston) and National Grid’s Hispanic Professional Organization (HPA) visited the McDevitt Middle School STEM and invention camp held on February school vacation week. The students received an opportunity to interact with various engineers and ask them questions such as how they got to where they are, what they do on a daily basis and what types of activities and technologies they are responsible for. They also learned about how National Grid works and the fundamentals on power grids and power delivery. Finally, the young inventors received prizes such as electronics kits, solar panel kits and chemical experiment kits to continue cultivating their interest in STEM.
