All nominees must submit their nomination package by Saturday, March 31st! Nomination package must include: biography, professional photo, nomination petition and transcripts for undergraduate and graduate positions.

SHPE Boston’s Students Trained And Ready in STEM – March 2018
SHPE Boston is excited to bring back S.T.A.R.S.(Students Trained And Ready in STEM) to the Menino Community Center this spring 2018!
The event is geared towards promoting STEM across the Boston Public Schools system and will connect local university students, professionals and volunteers to students from over 20 schools! Come and enjoy our STEM extravaganza with our SHPE Boston family on March 29, 2018.

Boston Debate League – Volunteer as a Debate Judge (Spanish and English)
The Boston Debate League (BDL) mission is to integrate argumentation and competitive debate into Boston Public Schools to develop critical thinkers ready for college, career, and engagement with the world around them. They work with a large and growing community of volunteers to host 12 tournaments per year. Are you interested in being part of our team? Here’s what you can do:
Volunteer as a judge: it involves listening to debaters, taking notes, offering encouragement and feedback, and determining a winner in each round. Debates are in English and Spanish, and we’re always looking for Spanish-speaking judges!
No experience is necessary: we provide training and walk you through your first judging experience. Meals and networking opportunities are also provided. Time commitment: 4-9 hours.

Empowering Women for the Future
Recently there has been an uptick in young people taking public office as more and more citizen have realized that social change starts at the grassroots level. From movements like #BlaclLivesMatter and #MeToo, to younger elected officials at the city and state level, we are seeing more youths and women in public office. We look forward to celebrating this energy and activism with you on Thursday, March 8th.
